Professor Karel Segeth is
a renowned expert in numerical analysis and computational methods.
His research interests include
adaptive finite element methods,
a posteriori error estimates,
mathematical models of semiconductors,
and methods of numerical linear algebra.
Karel Segeth has been working in the Institute of Mathematics since 1964.
He was director from 1996 to 2004 and
we are happy to host a conference on the occasion of his 70th birthday.
A wide variety of applications of mathematics, including numerical
analysis, computational mathematics, number theory, and mathematical physics.
Peer reviewed proceedings will be published by the Institute of Mathematics before the conference, both in printed and electronic form.
